Seafood restaurant announced as newest waterfront tenant

A popular Seattle-area seafood restaurant is coming to Vancouver’s new waterfront development.

On Monday, during a ceremony to commemorate the start of construction on the Grant Street Pier, Gramor Development CEO Barry Cain revealed that Wildfin American Grill has signed a lease to occupy 7,500 square feet of space on the first level of Building 9 – one of the development’s two main restaurant buildings.

Wildfin is described as a casual neighborhood restaurant with a menu selection that features local and regionally sourced meats, fresh fish, seafood and produce. The restaurant currently has locations in Issaquah, Renton and Tacoma.

“When you see this restaurant you will agree with me that they are the perfect fit,” said Cain. “They are exactly what we’re hoping to attract to this development. We know that Wildfin will be a great asset to the community and to the waterfront development for many years for come.”

Wildfin is the second restaurant to sign on as a Waterfront Vancouver tenant. In January, Gramor announced that Twigs Bistro, a Spokane-based restaurant chain, will take 8,320 square feet in the development’s other restaurant building.

Construction on the restaurant buildings is expected to start this fall.

As for the Grant Street Pier and the surrounding 7.3 acre waterfront park, a number of elected officials spoke during the groundbreaking ceremony, including Annette Cleveland, Washington State Senator; Sharon Wylie, Washington State Representative; and Vancouver Mayor Leavitt.

“The pier and the park are the public amenities that will help to sew the development together, with open space, event venues, trails and recreational opportunities for all ages and abilities,” said Leavitt. “Indeed it took a strong public-private partnership working together to make this a reality.”

The pier is expected to be complete by the end of 2017
